  1. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon? You should be a College student. If you love to code, you are more than welcome to participate in the Hackathon.

  2. Do I need to pay any money to submit my idea for the Hackathon? No, you only need to pay if you are shortlisted for the 24-hr on-site event. The registration amount is INR 300, which you are expected to pay on the day of the hackathon.

  3. Do we need to have the entire idea fully working? The entire idea need not be fully implemented however, the product should be functional so that it can be reviewed by the judges.

  4. Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon? No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the duration of Hackathon. You can develop the application on your local system. Judges will look at your application and will grade your work.

  5. Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using a number of pre-built libraries? There is no restriction to use any language, technology stack, or libraries. You can use any of them to create the application.

  6. Who will own the IP(Intellectual Property) Rights to the product that I have built? The developer/developers of the application will have all rights and own the IP of the product. However, all code needs to be in the public domain (open source) so that it can be evaluated by the judges.

  7. What if I use some code/asset that has copyright issues? You should not use any code/asset that has copyright restriction. However, you are free to use any content that is copyright free.

  8. Should I do prior preparation ? You can make prior preparations/planning but all the implementation has to be performed on the day of the event. You are not allowed to use your previous projects and pretend during the hackathon. Any such case will be viewed seriously and may even lead to cancellation of registration.

  9. Do I need to bring all of my stuff? Yes, you need to bring all the required pieces of equipment needed to implement your idea. We won't provide any equipment except for the charging points and internet connectivity.
